The range of vapor capsules and plastabs are designed to protect electrical equipment from corrosion.

Electrical equipment uses silver and copper metals as the primary conductors of electricity.  Both these metals are subject to tarnishing (corrosion) when exposed to environments that contain humidity, salt, chlorine, acids or other corrosive gases.

When copper/silver corrode this increases the resistance of the electrical circuit and in the worst case can result in an electrical fire.  Our VCI emitters provide an effective method of protecting electrical assets in a cost effective manner. Applications for the use of vapor capsules are broad, typical uses in the past have included:

  • avionics electronics at airports
  • marine electroncis on board military and non-military vessels
  • chemical plants and paper mills
  • waste water plants
  • railway signalling and points boxes
  • SCADA systems
  • telemetery and metering equipment
